Iran Will Not Accept Restriction on Peaceful Nuclear Program: Rowhani

The secretary of Supreme National Security Council Hassan Rowhani made these remarks in a meeting with the visiting European foreign policy and security chief Javier.

Rowhani expressed hope that a further inspection of Iranian nuclear sites would testify to the fact again that Iran has never breached its nuclear commitments.

Rowhani told Solana that Iran-Europe relations have undergone many vicissitudes in the last 25 years. Rowhani said the Tehran Declaration was a turning point in settling the row over Iranian nuclear program and that the relation between Iran and EU. Rowhani said commitment to the declaration by the two sides could open new chapter in relations.

He said the Tehran Declaration showed that complicated political issues could be settled through dialogue.

Rowhani said the establishment of stability and security in the region, the settlement of regional crises such as those of Iraq and Afghanistan, fight against terrorism and drug trafficking and a region free from weapons of mass destruction are among the most important topics, which can be the agenda of talks between Iran and the EU.

The Iranian security official described political, economic and technological and scientific cooperation between the sides as very important saying mutual trust would act as the main backbone for materialization of comprehensive cooperation.

On the presence of MKO members in Iraq and some European countries, he noted that based on international laws on terrorism Europe and the U.S. should extradite the members of this terrorist organization to Iran.
